Ledger “Login”: how access works with a hardware wallet and Ledger Live.
Ledger devices don’t use a traditional website username and password. Instead, access combines your device PIN, your 24‑word recovery phrase (kept offline), and the Ledger Live application’s optional password lock. This page explains what “Ledger login” really means, how to sign in safely, and how to troubleshoot issues without risking your keys.

Think of the hardware wallet as your vault and Ledger Live as the interface. The device stores private keys inside a secure element chip; transactions must be confirmed physically on the device. Ledger Live adds convenience—portfolio, send/receive, staking, and in some regions access to services—while offering a local app lock. Treat the device PIN and your recovery phrase with utmost care; these control access to your assets, not a web login form.
